Countess Nadine Tolstoy, Disciple of Avatar Meher Baba
by Christopher Wilson and Charles Haynes
Drawing on unpublished private papers, this book traces the spiritual journey of Countess Nadine Tolstoy (1883-1946), one of Meher Baba's close Western disciples.
From their first meeting in 1931, Nadine longed to surrender completely to her Beloved. She lived in His ashram, traveled with Him across India, and carefully recorded His messages. In 1941, Baba sent her back to America to work for Him in partnership with Elizabeth Patterson and Norina Matchabelli.
Though illness later limited her physically, Nadine's devotion deepened. Her cheerfulness and love touched many, and Baba assured her she was always serving Him through "life's surrender." – From the book
